One of our favorite dives, the St. Peter was a three-masted schooner that sank during an October storm in 1898. At the time of her loss the St. Peter was carrying a cargo of chestnut coal, which can still be seen in the holds. The St. Peter is an advanced dive, with depths up to 125'. The water temperature at the bottom ranges from 35-45 depending on the time of year. Visibility on the wreck ranges from 5' to 100' with an average visibilty of 50'-60'. Highlights of the wreck include several masts, blocks, a capstan, and a very large burbot. One of the anchors was recovered from the wreck, and can be seen at Hughes Marina.
These dives are reserved for certified divers.
